Some more Information
This place is a good option around Bangalore for a short ride, click photos and breathe some fresh air. There is little scope for trekking here as you find huge rocks everywhere and rocks are very steep to climb. All that you get here is good view and excellent breeze. As with all places, even here, it is good if you visit early in the morning. Afternoons and early evenings may not be pleasant. You find huge rocks all around and they would get heated up late afternoon. Early monings, the 2 huge rocks make it look like a perfect backdrop for you to click a photo of your bike. Currently there is very little crowd and hence you can take your bike on the huge rock. I am sure once the place becomes very famous, they will make some arrangements to stop bikers taking their bike on the rock. There are 2 view points - One very close to the temple (Huge rock with a water tank over it). Another is opposite to the rock. The other one asks you to stretch your muscles a bit and walk for around 10-15 minutes. Overall, go if you like riding, clicking. If you are a vegetarian and love good south Indian breakfast, you may opt to pay a visit to Kamath Lokaruchi to make your trip better. (Also Janapada Loka)
My Experience and Opinion
The Ride
It was long time since I went for a ride. A couple of my friends accepted to join me. We had 3 bikes ready to go and we left from Marathalli Bangalore at about 5.30 am. It was a very pleasant ride since it was a warmer morning than regular. Our first stop was directly in Kamath Lokaruchi and had a sumptuous buffet breakfast. We did not waste a lot of time since we wanted to click some morning pics. Thimmappana Betta is located t around 12 kilometers from Ramanagara busstop. Google maps comes in handy since some one has added the location (Search for Thimmappa swamy temple or find below the map location). Riding uphill here is a nice experience but gets over soon. Hardly a mile or two is steep.
To click good pics, this place is an amazing option. Especially if you want a pic of your bike more than yourselves, this is a perfect spot. The twin rocks is placed in perfect spot to make perfect backdrop. Also, the view from the hill opposite to the temple provides good option for photography.(Thanks to wide angle lens though.!)
