Some more Information
Why am I writing this blog even if it is just a resort visit? Because – It carries a trek to a peak along with the package and there are many such resorts in and around this place.
Please note – This is not an endorsement to any resort and is just a sharing of experience.
When a group ( better off – a gang) of people want a place to hang out, play, and give some stretch to the muscles after working a week long, places like Rottikallu Resort are awesome.
Bookings usually close 2-3 weeks prior for weekends. So, plan accordingly.
Do not get deceived by looking at photos in the websites of these resorts. Those are the photos taken during post monsoon season and the place is not the same after November till rainy season.
Be informed that this is not a typical resort with ultra modern facilities like indoor play courts, swimming pool etc. But, the rooms are pretty decent and well maintained.
The staff is very friendly and they assign one person to the group for all the need.
From my friends in the group, I know that the non veg food was also good here. Do visit the respective website of the resort you plan to visit to see what is included in the package. Pretty much all the resorts in and around this place have a trek option, good south Indian meal, decent stay and some water games.
The food quality is pretty good provided you like the south indian style of food.
There is a water falls on the way and I would say it is just a stream of water falling from not more than 6-7 meters.
My Experience and Opinion
Rottikallu Resort near Sakleshpura like many other resorts in the foothills of Western Ghat, Rottikallu has beautiful 360 degree backdrop. Adding to the location and weather is the way they have arranged the activities in Resort. It is perfectly crafted for group of 15-20 members. (I would say for small families this may not be as enjoyable as a group since most of the activities are most suitable for bigger groups) The food in the resort is pretty good, the trek is of decent distance especially when you mixed interest group. The resort has a decent Cricket ground, small lakes with boating, and other ‘mini’water activities like zip lining with water pool at the end etc.
